This is the website of North London Flyers Model Flying Club. We have an active membership and fly every weekend and regularly on various weekdays. A range of talents and experience ranging from novices to aces, our more experienced flyers help the less experienced and all join in to enjoy the wonderful experience that is model plane flying! There are strictly no charges for training and we have dedicated Marshals to oversee and ensure our site regulations are upheld for the safety of all members.
Please feel free to browse our website and if you are interested in joining us, please use this contact form.

North London Flying Club are proud to unveil their new website, complete with regular updates, photos and upcoming events.
The Ethos of the club has remained the same for the past Eleven years since we were formed. Our aim right from the beginning was, an still is to this day, to provide a vehicle for model enthusiasts to participate and promote the hobby of model flying and to do so in a safe relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
We welcome model flyers from all backgrounds and levels of experience. In particular we welcome complete novices who express a keen desire to learn to fly and eventually joining the club.
Tuition to prospective new members is completely free, as is advice ranging from what model best suits you, to setting up your model. This is an important area particularly to the novice / newcomer and one we pride ourselves in and excel.
We follow guidelines and adopted the training syllabus set out by The British Model Flying Association (BMFA) in it’s manual “Up and Away”. All club members are required to have insurance provided by the BMFA in order to fly at the club.
Learning to fly is a serious business and safety is of paramount importance, but we do try to make it fun at the same time. Using the buddy box system where the instructor can regain control of a model at a flick of a switch makes it a very safe system indeed and will ensure that you get to go home at the end of the day with your pride and joy intact, well ! (most of the time anyway).
In addition, we also provide “come and try sessions” on our club trainer (The Ready 2) for people who want to have a go at flying before they committee to the expense of buying a model and associated paraphernalia.
Whilst we encourage members to go on and take their (A) and (B) certificates, it is not a requirement of the club that you have these in order to fly solo at the club. Experienced flyers who join the club or visit as a guest, are required to perform a check flight with the SO (safety officer) or the CFI (chief flying instructor) and if deemed competent will then be cleared to fly solo.
A trainee will only be able to fly solo when a club instructor deems he/she competent and has informed the SO or CFI of he’s intentions. The SO or CFI have the final word on this matter.
Happy and safe flying!
